Jim Thompson announces the return of its summer culinary classic, the Khao Chae Jim Thompson set. Available from 17 March to 11 May 2025, this annual summer delicacy honors traditional Thai cuisine while reimagining the royal dish as a modern lifestyle experience.
Served at Jim Thompson, A Thai Restaurant in elegant brassware, the Khao Chae set features freshly harvested Thai jasmine rice steamed to perfection, served in pure water infused with fragrant Thai jasmine and organic summer flowers. The set comes with seven meticulously prepared side dishes:
Fried Shrimp Paste Balls: Rich umami-packed shrimp paste balanced with aromatic herbs and spices Sweeten Eagle Ray: Tender fish prepared in a delicate sweetened sauce Fried Dried Large Red Chili Fish Stuffing: Sun-dried snakehead fish seasoned and presented in fried dried chili Sweet Preserved Chinese Radish: Caramelized with palm sugar for a perfect sweet contrast Fried Stuffed Green Bell Peppers: Seasoned Thai kurobuta pork and shrimp wrapped with fried organic egg Shallot with Fish Stuffing: Savory sundried marinated snake head fish blended with aromatic herbs Sweetened Pork and Beef Threads: Shredded meat cooked with palm sugar and fish sauce
The experience is complemented by intricately carved seasonal vegetables and fruits, including green and sweet mango, fingerroot, cucumber, spring onions, and chili peppers. To conclude, diners enjoy Jim Thompson’s unique Som Chun Lychee dessert with Marian Plum and Mulberries in Syrup, infused with Somza and Thai jasmine. The Khao Chae set is priced at 890 Baht++ at the restaurant, with only 50 sets available daily. A special take-away option is presented in a limited-edition Jim Thompson Thai Tiffin Box (Pinto) with a handle adorned with Jim Thompson silk and a canvas bag, available at 1,550 Baht per person.
